The Bowls Club


The Bowls Club was formed on 5th October 1992 and has a regular membership in excess of 20 players. The ages range from 19 to late 70’s and the club is fully mixed with approximately equal ladies and gentlemen.

Club night is on Mondays, 7.30-10.30pm in the Village Hall. We have three mats each 45ft (13.75m) long x 6ft (1.83m) wide, standard bowls are used.

The club is affiliated to the English Short Mat Bowls Association via the Buckinghamshire Short Mat Bowls Association and has representatives on the County committee.

We are involved in The South Bucks League and play local clubs such as Marlow, Chiltern, Widmer End and Amersham on a home and away basis. The club won this league in 1996/97 and are generally in the top half of the league.

We boast one England player, Paul Megson, and several County champions along with seven County players, the current singles County champion is Coleshill player Kevin Goodman.

Coleshill player John Holland is the current County Team Manager.

Bowls Club News
Coleshill Short Mat Bowls Club are running an introductory course starting at the beginning of August 2008 and running for 6 weeks.

The course is designed to give people a feel for bowls including what equipment they need, rules and etiquette. You will not need anything to start with apart from flat soled shoes. The cost is £20, and the course will be on Monday nights, 7.30 - 9.30. If you would like to come along please call John Holland on 729357
