Gone to Pieces was the name chosen for our patchwork and quilting group because, basically, we take perfectly good fabric, cut it up and sew it back together again! Ah, but in what wonderful ways!
A capped membership of 70 ladies (men would be welcome) have been doing this, in amazing fashion, for 32yrs in Coleshill Village Hall, on the second Friday of each month. We have excellent speakers from around this country and, occasionally, abroad. We hold workshops to learn different techniques - of which there are many - and have a couple of social meetings each year. We have held one exhibition in the Hall and the Church and were hoping to hold another for our 30th anniversary but Covid put paid to that. We meet at 12 noon, hold a bit of business; eat our packed lunches then hold a Show and Tell Session to see each other's finished items; pick our raffle winners, swap our patchwork library books and then settle back to see our speaker of the month. The meetings close at 3pm.
Duriing Lockdown, our then chairman kept our momentum going with weekly Zoom meetings - one for a coffee and chat in the mornings and one for a project of sewing in the afternoons Visitors are always welcome, either just to see what we have been doing or to go on our waiting list to join. A small charge is made for this. So - or sew - if you like fabric crafts, why not come along one month.
